A very attractive watch indeed this early matte dial Explorer 1016.

36mm case diameter make it an extremely versatile and wearable watch.

1.7 million serial dates it to 1967, in my books.

The “frog leg Rolex coronet” dial is very attractive with it’s matte background and cream patina markers matched by the hand set in good condition. The luminous of the markers glows slightly if put next to a strong light source as most of the 1967-68 watches were equipped with tritium mixed with zinc sulfide.

The case has sharp lugs and is in good condition.

The riveted bracelet is in good condition and the big logo Rolex clasp is engraved 67 correct for the watch.

All in all a true and honest vintage Explorer 1016!
