Description

I particularly love the Automatic Patek Philippe Calatravas from the 1950s because they come with interesting case details and finishing, quintessential Patek simplicity and that super sexy PP crown found only on those models of the era.

Reference 3440 shares much with it’s successor 3445 in terms of the stepped lugs and screwback case. Clocking in at a nice 34.5 mm diameter it appears larger on the wrist and looking extremely contemporary.

The case is in nice conditions with even lugs still retaining their stepped facets and still visible hallmark on the side. The screw case back has an engraved dedication visible in the pictures (and reminiscent of the old Patek Philippe adage “you never own a Patek Philippe but just keep it for the next generation”). The PP crown is just he sexiest detail ever.

The dial is in fine conditions with that pure opaline background and classic Patek design.

The automatic movement is running strong with no issues. Beautifully finished by Patek Philippe and recently serviced.

On leather strap with generic buckle.

A great watch to enjoy and keep for the next generation.
