What an essential Patek Philippe Calatrava from the 1960, it’s the epitome of a gentleman’s watch this rare reference 3542.
Dating from around early 1960s this sharp and well defined Calatrava (in Patek lingo, circular case with lugs timepiece) features a fabulous automatic caliber 27-460, a scarce and stunning sunburst champagne dial with black dagger markers. This watch has it all!
The 36mm case is in sharp crisp unpolished conditions retaining its highly detailed and faceted lugs and a cutting edge bezel. Signs of wear are present (again, never polished!) nonetheless the watch is really attractive. The screw back case cover is in sharp conditions.
The wonderful sunburst finish dial catches the light beautifully and radiates strong rays across. The markers are really attractive and the matching hand set is in pristine conditions.
The automatic 27-460 Patek Philippe caliber is running strong with no issues.
On my favorite chocolate alligator flat vintage feel strap and generic gold tone buckle.
A supremely rare automatic Calatrava to hold for the next generation 😉 .
