**SOLD**Jaeger LeCoultre Vintage Reverso 1940 | Cream Dial |
In the mount Olympus of iconic vintage watches stands the legacy of the ultra classic Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso.
Created in 1931 with polo players in mind so as not to break the crystal of their wristwatches when playing, the cabriolet system and it’s quintessential rectangular case is a must have in any serious vintage watch collection.
This specific watch dates around 1940.
The stainless steel case measuring 24x38mm is extremely well preserved with real thick proportions, facets and sharp edges. The steel case cover is clean and surprisingly was spared from a monogram (95% of the vintage Reverso have one). The case back is finely milled and crisp and features extremely deep and sharp engravings.
The dial with it’s attractive cream tone and applied markers is in overall pleasing conditions with a crisp JLC signature at 12 and Swiss at 6. The blue steel gladiator hands are in fine conditions. This dial layout and color is quite rare and desirable.
The manual wind JLC caliber is winding smoothly, running strong and keeping time.
On stitched calf grain strap and JLC buckle.
A really fine Reverso deserving of a discerned wrist and a special place in a serious collection.
