The Jumbos of the 1970s from the maison Cartier are certainly my cup of tea: the combination of geometry and metals, the watery organic feeling of the enamel dials along with the masculine size of the case while keeping it’s understatement is… just my speed.
This Cartier Ceinture is from around 1974 and is rare in it’s iteration being the largest size of the model and featuring the automatic movement present in the Jumbo Tanks as well.
The 18k gold case measures 31x31mm and is in crisp thick conditions with defined edges, sharp angles and overall a great presence on the wrist. The winding crown design is very interesting and featured to my memory only on this model.
The classic Cartier dial layout with roman numerals, railroad minute track and blue steel hand set is in pleasing conditions with no deep cracking or defects, the Paris signature at 6 o’clock adds to the allure of the watch.
The automatic Cartier movement is running well and keeping time.
On it’s original lizard Cartier strap?? fitting about 7.25 inch wrist and 18k Cartier original yellow gold deployment buckle.
All in all a wonderful timepiece to enjoy and cherish everyday.
