Description

Much has been said of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak a quintessential 1970s design from the brainchild of fabled designer Gerald Genta.

Here we have a fine early 1980s specimen of the first mid size production reference 4100. Case number in the 2000s dates is to early / mid 80s in my records.

The 34.5 mm diameter case is in sharp and crisp conditions retaining it’s fine edges, angles and original crisp satin finish. The bezel is clean and the screws sits flush within it.

The original grey dial is very attractive with it’s micro tapisserie texture and no blemishes. The AP signatures are crisp and the hand set is in good conditions. The original champagne date wheel with the special Royal Oak fonts is very attractive.

The bracelet is in overall fine conditions with no stretch standing erect and strong. The clasp is in pristine conditions. The bracelet will fit a 7 inch wrist.

The Automatic 2123 AP caliber is running strong with no issues.

A quintessential watch that is rich and opulent in two tone without being in your face!
