What’s fantastic about AP is that there are so many different iterations of the classic Royal Oak, you really can’t get bored.

Here we have a rare version of the iconic 14790 36mm Royal Oak manufactured in tantalum and rose gold. Tantalum is a metal that is as heavy as platinum and quite difficult to work with. To my knowledge only Audemars has mastered this metal.

D serial dates it to the mid 90s.

The case is sharp and clean with strong edges and prominent satin finish. The bezel is clean and its eight edges are well defined.

The dial is different than the classic Royal Oak as it’s smooth with a satiny finish along with the framed date window. In great conditions with no issues.

The bracelet stands erect and will fit a 7 inch wrist.

The movement is running well. I do not have service history for the watch.

Accompanied by it’s original inner and outer AP boxes.
