I am very happy to share and write about the most collectible modern Rolex out there.
Rolex GMT master 16710 was produced since the early 90s till 2008 when it made room for the new 6 digits ceramic GMT.
The last specimens of reference 16710 were fitted with the new caliber 3186 ,we are talking about roughly 30000 pieces (which is peanuts compared to Rolex productions) that went to the US market and the Hong Kong market mainly.
The dial also has a peculiar font in the II after GMT Master that can be either stick or a rectangle.
So far we have found the 3186 movement on specimens starting with serial z6 (like the last one in my collection,earliest found so far) all the way to M3 serial.
Collectors have been scooping up all the pieces around and paying top dollar for them especially when they are in New Old Stock conditions and fully accessorized.
