Description

An absolutely uber rare and massive Audemars Piguet dating to the early 70s and featuring the iconic Beta 21 quartz movement.

With a truly contemporary octagonal and “porthole” shaped case with integrated bracelet so Gerald Genta and the “clous de Paris” Royal Oak style dial with AP at 6, this watch really checks all the boxes for the vintage collector!

The stainless steel case measures approximately 44 x 36mm and is in overall fine conditions with regular signs of wear. All the facets and edges are sharp and well defined. The original satin finish is prominent all over.

The dial is clean and features the classic hobnail pattern seen on the Royal Oak and the iconic blue/grey color changing shades in different lights. Ap logo at 6 is the cherry on the cake.

The movement is one of the most precise ever produced with just one second loss per month and that can be corrected by pushing the setter on the side of the case.

The bracelet is in great conditions with no stretch and fully linked. The clasp is signed Audemars Piguet.

I’ve seen this reference appear at auction only once in these years of watch dealing, it is truly an unusual timepiece, incredibly masculine and with great presence.
