Things that make my heart beat faster: Unreal and rare Audemars Piguet timepieces.
A true study in case design and in watchmaking, period. This unbelievable AP reference 4010 is the true father of the Royal Oak. Produced in 1969-70 it really has all the DNA of what took the brand to the next level.
Octagonal stainless steel case measuring 35x43mm , making it an uber contemporary watch, I can’t even come with the right words to describe this timepiece.
The case is sharp- well defined with strong facets and edges and subtle tasteful finishing all over. The lugs are strong and showcase beautiful faceting on it’s tips. The side of the case is triple faceted just like the Royal Oak to come. Satin and polished combinations finishes on the metal give it true depth and character. The case back is engraved “AP Steel” a detail to drool over and buy this watch just for this reason.
The black matte dial is in pristine conditions and is the rarer (we are already lost in the galaxy of rarity) iteration of this crazy reference. The signature on the bottom is clean along with the needle like hand set.
The ultra thin caliber 2120 is running well with no issues, and again did I say thin?
You wear this watch it’s light and thin you don’t even feel it. I know so cause I personally own the same reference (silver dialed).
On it’s original alligator strap and steel buckle.
Accompanied by it’s original green leather folder fitted AP box.
WOW JUST WOW
