A really loved Red Submariner 1680 from 1972 complete with it’s absolute fullest set!
3 million serial dates it to 1972 in my books.
The case is thick with even strong lugs and prominent beveled edges. The holes on the side of the case are well defined. It is clear to me this watch has been worn with love for most of it’s life as it has what we call “Shirt Cuff Shine” maintaining it’s true proportions. The bezel is thick with sharp teeth. The insert faded to a wonderful blue hue and the numerals took on a bit of golden tan.
The dial is attractive with it’s all even egg shell lume plots and hand set in top conditions. This watch has seen the light of everyday. The red submariner text is vivid red. The crystal has some wear and I didn’t buff it, left as found. The date wheel has the correct fat font numerals with open 6 and 9s.
The 93150 oyster bracelet is in nice conditions with minimal stretch.
Accompanied by it’s original punched Rolex warranty, “Your Rolex Oyster” booklet, translation leaflet, original anchor, original chronometer lacquered tag, store receipt, store warranty, vinyl warranty holder with serial number and original box.
A really fat full set Red Sub not to be missed!
