A really attractive specimen of the classic GMT Master 1675 hailing from South America and the historic retailer Serpico Y Laino.
1 million serial dates it to 1962, in my books.
The early pointed crown guard case is in great condition with thick and even lugs and prominent beveled edges. The bezel is thick with sharp teeth. The insert is incredbily attractive with a sky blue and cherry faded red combination of colors.
The gilt gloss dial is in great conditions with cream even patina lume plots and nice condition laquered background with minimal aging. The gilded text is in top conditions. The original gilt hand set including the small arrow 24 hour hand are in very fine conditions with even patina and cohesive with the lume plos. The original “Serpico Y Laino” signature is crisp under magnification and a real piece of history. Under UV light the lume glows all evenly and correct / original.
The 7206 swiss riveted bracelet is in great conditions and the clasp is stamped 69.
The movement is clean and running strong.
Accompanied by Rolex Service papers and Rolex 60s box.
A fantastic watch to gaze at every day and a piece of history to keep as a heirloom.
