The Jaeger Le-Coultre Reverso is within the pinnacle of iconic vintage watches. A refined watch indeed exuding great history and aristocratic elegance, mind you only rich people play Polo.. at least in the 1930s..
Ultra chic and understated, this is the Reverso.
The cabriolet system initially invented to enable Polo players to wear their watch while practicing the sport and to protect the dial and movement from shocks and drops became one of the must have watches of all times.
This Reverso dates to the early 1930s with it’s clean and quintessential dial design typical of the specific production of 1931. Furthermore it exhibits the retailer’s signature Eberhard Milan further enhancing the history of this timepiece.
The stainless steel case retained it’s full proportions and original finishes with well defined facets and grooves typical of the classic Reverso. The case back is in mint conditions and has a crisp milled finish and nice crisp serial number engraving. The cabriolet systems functions with no issues. The reversible steel side has a finely enameled monogram, 99% of vintage Reverso come with one.
The rare cream dial is very attractive with a parchment like warm patina and lovely gilded indices that catch the light and brighten up like a gem when the sun hits it. The double signature is in good conditions. The original blue steel hand set is in good conditions.
The manual wind JLC movement has just been fully serviced in my workshop and is keeping time with no issues.
