This is a very interesting watch as it is a Gerald Genta designed timepiece pre Royal Oak at Audemars Piguet.
Stainless steel case (a rare thing for Audemars at the time) and a contemporary size make it quite wearable and iconic.
The case measures 33.5mm across appearing larger on the wrist due to the tonneau shape. The case is in overall nice conditions consistent with age, appearing unpolished with full prominent beveled edges. The serial number engraved on the case is deep and crisp.
The opaline dial with black markers and hand set is very attractive and “Zen” like featuring the old school font text Audemars Piguet signature.
The rare manual wind AP 2002 caliber is running fine and is indeed a rare movement produced only in 200 pieces according to our research.
On leather strap and a cool AP steel buckle (which may be aftermarket).
A rare watch with incredible upside to enjoy everyday.
