I’ve been hunting the “Helm” since the moment I’ve seen one and fell immediately in love just for it being sold in front of my eyes a minute later, it is truly one of the most interesting and fascinating watches I’ve handled, surely one of the rarest.
The fanciest shaped case out there is reminiscent of the helm of a ship –what a striking look indeed.
The year of manufacture is 1952 as per the extract from VC archives.
The 18k rose gold case measuring 33 x 40 mm retains it’s sharp edges and strong curves along with it’s warm precious metal color. The original crown is in fine conditions. The case back cover has a charming engraving ” A mama’ de Mauricio” .
The original dial acquired a nice parchment like patina giving the timepiece a true vintage vibe. The raised enamel signature is in good conditions.
The manual wind movement is winding smooth and keeping time.
On beautiful stitched suede strap and original Vacheron Maltese cross rose gold buckle.
