A really exciting first series Rolex Oysterquartz reference 17000, groundbreaking and among the most expensive in the Rolex lineup at the time, this watch is truly a great addition to a vintage Rolex collection.
5 million serial dates it to 1978, in my books.
The case is sharp, thick with original proportions and crisp finish, prominent faceted edges and crisp serial / reference engravings on the back.
The black dial featuring only three lines of the text is correct and found only on the first iterations of this reference. No blemishes on the glossy black background and beautiful cream tritium patina matched also by the hand set in fine conditions.
The bracelet is fully linked and in pleasing conditions with original satin finish and no stretch.
The rolex quartz movement is runnign well with no issues.
A robust and fine watch to wear on a daily basis, belonging to a prominent vintage Rolex collection.
