An unusual and rare Rolex from the early 1950s, I just love those under the radar watches!
This specific watch is very attractive in it’s 35mm size case appearing even bigger given it’s thin bezel and big dial overture. A super contemporary look for a pure vintage watch.
The case is sharp and clean with incredibly sharp split stepped lugs and deep serial number engraving on the case back. The crown is the original one.
The dial features a warm salmon color and a Bauhaus influenced no nonsense design. The classic flat Rolex coronet typical of it’s time is paired with the retailer’s signature “Erbe Basel” as in Basel Switzerland (home of the iconic watch trade show).
The manual wind movement is running with no issues and winding smoothly.
On leather strap and generic buckle.
Accompanied by it’s original Rolex “ribbon logo” box, a beautiful collectible indeed.
