A show stopper, a conversation piece, an accessory, a timepiece, exotic skins, silver and modernist design make a superb cocktail in this 1970s Longines from the brainchild of fabled designer Serge Manzon. A watch that looks like it came out of a mid century exhibition or even more out of the Ralph Lauren Safari collection of the early 80s. Just WOW.
This rarity including alligator skin trim and it’s elephant strap from the Manzon X Longines series is very unusual and comes to me in well preserved and in showroom conditions.
The sterling silver case measuring a shocking 32mm x 63mm !! is in crisp full original conditions retaining it’s original edges, curves and hallmarks. The alligator skin trim on the case is in mint conditions. The buckle integrated in the case is in mint conditions.
The fabulous mirror finish sector dial is in mint conditions along with the hand set.
The mechanical manual wind movement is winding smoothly and running fine. Most of Longines Serge Manzon have a quartz movement, the mechanical one was reserved for the more important pieces of the series.
The original absolutely incredibly gorgeous elephant skin strap is in supple mint conditions.
Accompanied by it’s original hang tags.
A superb find for the cosmopolitan design and style oriented collector.
