Not many watches can spark an instant smile on your face while being a true conversation piece such as this one, the fascinating Cartier Maxi Oval. Reminiscent of the Salvador Dali clocks and the straight brother of the Cartier Crash the Baignoire Allongee (“elongated bathtub, en francais”) this design has been a staple of Cartier since the 1960s.

This specific watch dates to the early 2000s and features a crisp and elongated white gold case, guilloche’ dial with exploded numerals and a mechanical movement checking all the boxes of collectible Cartier.

The 18k white gold case measuring a whopping 22mm x 47mm (!) is in crisp mint conditions retaining it’s perfect curves and flow. The beaded sapphire cabochon topped crown is in mint conditions.

The mesmerizing dial featuring an iconic Cartier guilloche’ texture and painted exploded roman numerals is in flawless conditions. The blue steel hands are pristine. The “Made in France” signature at 6 is the cherry on the cake making this watch even more exquisite and pedigreed.

The mechanical manual wound 060 MC caliber is winding smoothly and running fine.

On original black alligator strap and white gold “ardillon” shape Cartier buckle.

The watch is accompanied by it’s original box and Cartier Japan service papers.

A truly exciting watch that will certainly be a pleasure to wear and that will garner you some deserved attention.
