As a collector of vintage Audemars Piguet specifically from the 1970s this watch surely hits a soft spot for me being an ultra rare fancy shaped case housing my favorite extra thin automatic caliber, AP 2121.
The watch dates to about 1970.
The hexagonal 18k solid yellow gold case measuring a whopping 38mm wide x 43mm long is in overall pleasing conditions, unpolished and showcasing defined edges and original finish. The original crown has some wear. The watertight case back cover retained it’s original finish and edges along with crisp hallmark and serial number engraving.
The very attractive and rare matte black dial perfectly complements the yellow gold along with the hand set in fine conditions.
The automatic ultra thin caliber 2121 was just serviced by watchmaker and running well.
On it’s original Audemars Piguet crocodile strap (the strap has to be perforated to be screwed in within the case) and yellow gold buckle.
A really exciting and rare Audemars Piguet for the uber discerned collector.
