In my quest for freshness and unicity I started focusing at overlooked Audemars Piguet references such as this Hutieme Chronograph a fabulous production from the 1980s featuring a groundbreaking new chronograph caliber from the manufacture.
The Tantalum and rose gold case is a AP specialty featured in the royal oak as well and used only by them and FP Journe to this day. Tantalum is a heavy porous metal with platinum like heft and a wonderful grey blue hue. The case is in overall pleasing conditions with some signs of wear. The pushers and crown are pristine.
The dial is in mint conditions, the cyclops is within the crystal (not on like rolex) in good conditions and the rose gold hand set in pristine state.
The ultra thin automatic chronograph and date movement (featured later on in the offshore line) is running well.
On it’s original super attractive grey alligator strap and it’s AP deployant buckle (tres cool!).
Accompanied by it’s original inner and outer boxes.
A great addition to an AP collection, still undervalued with plenty potential but above all a really enjoyable timepiece to wear in a sporty or elegant setting. AP power!
