Such a refined rarefied timepiece this Audemars Piguet from the early 1960s featuring an intricate case design resembling Patek’s 2552 model (also called Disco Volante) and a center seconds movement (rare caliber 2002).
The 18 yellow gold case measuring 33mm is in original collectible conditions retaining it’s wonderful fluted and curved lugs, deep hallmarks and stepped bezel, truly an exquisite and fancy case design reminiscent of an UFO. The original crystal is still present (for the purists) showcasing some expected crazing.
The ivory color dial is very soothing and neutral in color with some minor aging spots. The three hand set is in good conditions.
The mechanical manual wind center seconds caliber 2002 ( it is said just few hundreds were made) is running well and winding smoothly.
On 1960s pig skin new old strap from my personal collection.
A real refined watch for the appreciator of the fine things in life.
