Great things come in small packages such as this incredibly sweet 1950s Calatrava style timepiece from Audemars Piguet. The AP answer to Patek Philippe classy reference 96 is right here right now.

Housing the rare caliber 2002 based on JLC movement with center seconds this watch comes with a rare pedigree.

According to my Audemars book the movement dates to 1957.

The 18k gold case measuring 31mm in diameter is extremely thick with full proportions, sharp curved lugs and crisp hallmark on the back lug. The case back is mint and showing a nice deep serial number engraving.

The dial is in overall fine conditions with crisp signatures at 12 and 6. The hand set is in fine conditions.

The manual wind movement is winding smoothly and keeping time.

This watch has a nice presence on the wrist and makes the wearer feel elegant and refined.

On attractive chocolate brown leather strap and generic buckle.

A fine watch in attractive conditions indeed!
