The Audemars Piguet Star Wheel is a hypnotizing and striking wondering hours complication (in french “heures vagabonde” ) created by the marque in the early to mid 90s. The Star Wheel displays time via three sapphire disks with printed hours, which rotate on a center wheel, where usually the hour and minute hands are attached. The name of the watch is derived from the star wheels which connect the sapphire disks to this rotating center ring.
This specific wristwatch is a D serial dating to early series of the reference.
The contemporary sized 36.5mm 18k yellow gold case is beefy and in pristine sharp conditions displaying a pleasing brushed finish on the sides of the case, a clean bezel and delicate curved lugs. The hallmarks are sharp and crisp.
The uber attractive skeletonized dial showcasing the mechanism along with a wonderful guilloche’ finish on the bottom is in fine mint conditions.
