Iconic and ever present the Submariner “Date” in it’s first iteration with Red text is a must have in any vintage Rolex collection.
3 million serial dates it to 1971, in my books.
The case is thick, sharp with even lugs and prominent beveled edges. The bezel is thick with sharp teeth. The insert is vivid with crisp numerals and the tritium pip has a beautiful patina.
The case back is correctly stamped 3rd quarter of 71, super correct for this watch.
The dial is in pristine conditions with all lume plots matching in their extremely pleasing egg shell patina. The red text is vivid and sharp. The hand set matches beautifully and is in nice conditions.
The later 93150 oyster bracelet is in fine conditions, missing two links it will fit up to a 7 wrist.
The movement is running with no issues and keeping time.
A fine vintage Red Submariner to wear and enjoy, every day!
